A visit with artist Betye Saar in her studio in early 2011. Saar was part of the unique support system of African American artists, curators, scholars, and gallerists in Southern California from 1960 to 1980. She began her career in interior design, but later discovered printmaking through a program at Long Beach State. Her investigations in assemblage soon followed.
