Wadada Leo Smith & Nina Eidsheim in conversation

Internationally acclaimed composer and trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith, whose work transcends the bounds of genre or idiom, has exhibited his scores as works of art in Europe and the United States, including the Hammer. In the third of a series of dialogues with musicologist Nina Eidsheim, Smith discusses his compositional language Ankhrasmation and their collaborative recording and book project. Eidsheim is a professor at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and author of Sensing Sound: Singing and Listening as Vibrational Practice and The Race of Sound: Listening, Timbre, and Vocality in African American Music.
