Anne Carson performs (with accompaniment) her “Lecture on the History of Skywriting.” Her books, often mixed-genre, include Nox, an elegy in the form of an artist’s book housing accordion pages of poems, translations, quotations, collages, photographs, and other media, and The Beauty of the Husband: A Fictional Essay in 29 Tangos, winner of the T. S. Eliot Prize. Among her other awards are the Griffin Prize and a MacArthur Foundation “genius” award. This series of readings is organized and hosted by Stephen Yenser, poet and professor at UCLA.
