The multi-venue 2015 ATLAS IN LA festival kicked off at the Hammer, where media-dance pioneer Charles Atlas himself takes the stage to discuss and contextualize his vast and impactful body of work. With collaborators including Marina Abramović, Leigh Bowery, Michael Clark, Merce Cunningham, Antony & The Johnsons, and Yvonne Rainer, Charles Atlas has fused experimental filmmaking with dance, choreography, queer identity, NYC nightlife in the 1990s and much more.
