Rosanna Warren reads, April 2025

Apr 10, 2025

First an eminent poet, as well as a literary critic, translator, classicist, and painter, Rosanna Warren reminds one of the protean genius of Max Jacob, from whom she could hardly differ more, yet of whom she has written an exemplary biography. The biography was published in 2020, along with her most recent volume of poems, So Forth, characterized by her elegance, vivacity, and relentless specificity. Her verse reminds us everywhere of the wisdom of Thales that “all things are full of gods.”

Organized and hosted by poet, literary critic, and UCLA Distinguished Research Professor Stephen Yenser. Cosponsored by the UCLA Department of English and UCLA Recreation.
