Chris Ware is a self-taught cartoonist whose celebrated works include Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth, The Acme Novelty Library, Building Stories, Lonely Comics and Stories, Quimby the Mouse, and the comic strips Rusty Brown and God.

Tim Samuelson, curator of architecture and design at the Chicago Historical Society, is an eminent architectural historian who specializes in the work of Louis Sullivan. A former Loeb Fellow at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Samuelson has written extensively on architecture , history, and design.
