Gary Panter created the graphic novels Invasion of the Elvis Zombies, Jimbo in Purgatory, and Dal Toyko. His work has been published in numerous publications and has been exhibited throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. In 1987, he won an Emmy for his work as head set designer on Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

Jonathan Lethem is the author of numerous novels, including The Fortress of Solitude, Gun, with Occasional Music, Amnesia Moon, and Girl in Landscape. He is the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation grant and won a National Book Critic's Circle Award for Motherless Brooklyn. As editor, he created The Vintage Book of Amnesia, guest edited The Year's Best Music Writing 2001, and was founding fiction editor of Fence Magazine.
